As a passionate advocate for equity and positive change, Wendy De Leon’s journey from first-generation college graduate to President & CEO of United Way of Southern Cameron County exemplifies her unwavering commitment to uplift communities.
Drawing from over 10 years of nonprofit experience and recognition as one of 30 nationwide participants in the United Way LEAD program, Wendy spearheads innovative initiatives that create lasting change. As a Commissioner for the Housing Authority of the City of Brownsville, Wendy advocates for affordable housing accessibility – a cause close to her heart.
With a B.S. in Accounting from Western Governors University and roots as a Brownsville native and Los Fresnos CISD alum, Wendy leads with authenticity, inspiring others to join her vision for a stronger, more inclusive region.
