Closing the Public Housing Waiting Lists
Effective August 1, 2015

The Housing Authority of the City of Brownsville (HACB) will close their Public Housing waiting lists Effective August 1, 2015. The HACB will NOT accept any NEW applications on or after this date. There is no scheduled date to re-open the waiting lists at this time. When HACB is prepared to re-open these waiting lists, an announcement will be posted on our website and in the local newspaper.
If your name is already on a waiting list, you do not need to take any action. The HACB will maintain your name, date and time you applied. You are still required to update your personal information by submitting changes in writing.
